Taylor Swift donates $100K for family of woman killed at Chiefs victory parade

via CBS

Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe for Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

Lopez-Galvan, a 44-year-old DJ and mother of two, was among 21 people shot when violence erupted.

Her family had set up the fundraiser to help with expenses. Swift left two $50,000 donations along with a message of sympathy.

“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” she wrote.

Lopez-Galvan was a radio host at KKFI 90.1 FM and her brother said she loved her family and was fun-loving.

Her death devastated her family during the unexpected tragedy at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

Swift’s sizable donation helped the fund surpass its original $75,000 goal to support Lopez-Galvan’s husband and children.

The gun fire occurred as a result of a dispute between several people. It’s speculated that the incident is gang related, but police have released very few details. Authorities confirmed the violence is not terrorist related.

“The two juveniles are currently being held in custody while we work with juvenile prosecutors to review investigative findings and determine applicable charges,” police said in a statement. “The juvenile court system determines the custody status of all juvenile arrests.”
