An attack in the Gaza Strip killed 21 Israeli soldiers, marking the deadliest incident for Israeli troops since the war began.
The attack occurred when reservists were preparing explosives, leading to the collapse of two buildings on the soldiers.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue the war until “absolute victory.”
“In the name of our heroes, and for our own lives, we will not stop fighting until absolute victory,” Netanyahu wrote on X.
Efforts for a cease-fire have been ongoing, with Israel proposing a two-month cease-fire to free remaining hostages, but Hamas rejected the proposal, demanding an end to the offensive and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
