Tucker Carlson criticized the conviction of Derek Chauvin, suggesting he was wrongly sentenced for George Floyd’s death.
Chauvin was attacked in prison, and his lawyer, Gregory Erickson, expressed concerns about the prison’s handling of the situation.
The assailant, John Turscak, said the attack was premeditated due to Chauvin’s high-profile status. (Trending: Democrat Targets U.S. Troops With New Gun Control Law)
Carlson said, “Someone just tried to murder him. If they’d do this to him, they’d do it to you.”
Gregory Erickson, Chauvin’s lawyer, said, “Well, I can tell you what we know, and it’s not a tremendous amount. Everything, the only firsthand reports I’m getting, are from his family.”
“We attempted to contact the Tucson Federal Institution on numerous occasions and were rebuffed,” he continued.
Turscak faces multiple charges and was transferred to another prison after the incident.
Chauvin’s mother was not informed about the attack, and his attorney’s attempts to contact the Bureau of Prisons were unsuccessful.
Chauvin’s condition is now listed as “stable,” and the Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal.
Carolyn Pawlenty said, “How the hell do these news agencies know and his own mother doesn’t even know? And that [prison] has an emergency contact number [for me].”
“I can’t even think what to say. I haven’t been to bed and made a path in my kitchen and living room floor by pacing,” she continued.
