Former Meta Executive: ‘There Were Millions Of Pedophiles Targeting Tens Of Millions Of Children’

via ABC News

Recent reports have accused Meta of implementing encrypted messaging on Facebook and Instagram, which has raised concerns about facilitating predatory behavior against children.

Former employees and child safety advocates argue that the move to end-to-end encryption makes it harder to monitor and prevent online child predation.

Critics fear that features like “People You May Know” could be exploited by predators to connect with potential underage victims. (Trending: Trans Athlete Breaks College Record After Joining Women’s Team)

“It was a hundred times worse than any of us expected,” former executive David Erb said.

“There were millions of pedophiles targeting tens of millions of children.”

While Meta defends its encryption policy and highlights efforts to enhance child safety, the debate over the effectiveness of safety measures in a fully encrypted messaging environment continues.
