Iran’s ‘Nuclear Escalation’ Draws Attention Globally As Tensions Rise In Middle East

via Global News

Iran has increased its production of highly enriched uranium, reaching levels close to those required for weapons.

The U.S. State Department expressed significant concern over this escalation, emphasizing the need for Iran to cooperate fully with the IAEA to ensure transparency and prevent misuse of nuclear material.

The U.N. nuclear watchdog confirmed the increased production, which exceeds previous levels and the limits set by the 2015 nuclear deal. (Trending: Trump Releases Must-See Christmas Message)

“Iran’s nuclear escalation is all the more concerning at a time when Iran as well as Iran-backed militant groups and Iran’s proxies continue their dangerous and destabilizing activities in the region,” a State Department spokesperson said.

“This includes the latest drone attack against U.S. personnel in Iraq, Houthi attacks against commercial shipping vessels in the Red Sea as well as Iran’s latest armed-drone attack against a chemical tanker in the Indian ocean.”

Iran denies seeking nuclear weapons, stating that its nuclear program is peaceful and aimed at medical purposes.

The news follows heightened tensions in the Middle East, with recent attacks and warnings of potential conflicts in the region.
