Former House Speaker Paul Ryan was caught trying to steer presidential endorsements to Nikki Haley, warning against nominating Donald Trump.
Ryan has long opposed Trump, predicting his unelectability and even vowing to skip the 2024 RNC if Trump wins the GOP primary.

Ryan reportedly texted Rep. Mike Gallagher in an attempt to help Nikki Haley get the lawmaker’s public endorsement.
Paul Ryan reportedly wrote, “I think now is the time for a guy like you to endorse.”
“Plus, Her foreign policy/world views track closest to yours. She brings the most excitement,” continued the former speaker.
“I like Ron, but don’t think he is the growth stock Niki [sic] is,” predicted Ryan.
“Just following up per our talk [in] September. Go Packers!” he boasted.
A spokesperson for Rep. Gallagher said he had “no intention to endorse any candidate at this time.”
Paul Ryan said, “Trump’s unelectability will be palpable by then,” in reference to Trump’s ability to run a successful 2024 election.
“We all know that he’s so much more likely to lose the White House than anybody else running for president on our side of the aisle, so why would we want to go with that?” he continued.
The race is now tightening between Ron DeSantis and Haley, but neither has come close to challenging Trump’s lead.
