Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving sparked controversy by wearing a keffiyeh during a postgame press conference, symbolizing Palestinian solidarity.
The move generated mixed reactions on social media, with some praising him and others calling him antisemitic.
This comes after Irving’s previous involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict, where he criticized media for not condemning crimes against humanity.

“The NBA and NBPA mourn the horrific loss of life in Israel and condemn these acts of terrorism, wrote the NBA’s executive office.
Adding, “We stand with the people of Israel and pray for peace for the entire region.”
Irving eluded to the Israel-Hamas in the days following Hamas’ brutal attack on Oct. 7.
“Where are all you tough talking Media Heads that get on TV and social platforms to condemn people who stand by the oppressed??” wrote Irving on Twitter.
“Crimes are being committed against humanity and most of you are silent,” charged the NBA guard.
“Cat got your tongue? Or you’re afraid of actually standing for something real,” mocked the polarizing Irving.
The NBA and the Mavericks have not yet commented on the situation.
