Three women were arrested at Nashville International Airport for participating in a “ghost bag” operation involving stolen credit card information.

Southwest Airlines alerted authorities about a bag filled with expensive items, leading to the women’s detention and the seizure of gift cards and merchandise.

The women are accused of buying items with stolen credit cards and returning them for cash or store credit. (Trending: Judge Issue Major Ruling On Transgender Procedures For Kids)

These operations are typically used for criminal activities, and passengers expressed concerns about the security implications of unaccompanied bags.

Fellow passenger Jennifer Larson reportedly said, “It’s kind of scary to think that people can put whatever they want in a piece of luggage and ship it.”

“I hope that they regulate that if a bag doesn’t have a passenger with it. Then they don’t let the bag get on the plane,” continued Larson before boarding her flight to South Dakota.

Adding, “I mean, that’s common sense. If you are not on the plane, your bag shouldn’t be on the plane.”

Traveler Tracey Prue also spoke to reporters on the weaknesses of the airport security while she waited for her flight.

“These criminals are just looking for any way to manipulate the system,” warned Prue.

“Baggage claim is so easy to pick up someone else’s bags,” she continued.

“It’s been like that for years, so when you are on top of things, when you are flying, just make sure you are aware your bag is in there. Just be aware of your surroundings,” advised Prue.

“If you see a bag going around by itself with nobody around, maybe let someone know,” she told reporters.
