China Makes Major Move To Prevent EV Battery Competition

via JerryRigEverything on Youtube

China’s state-run Global Times has celebrated China’s dominance of the electric vehicle (EV) battery supply chain and plans to expand overseas.

Chinese manufacturers Gotion High-tech and CATL are now building battery plants in the U.S., Germany, and Hungary.

Concerns have since been raised regarding American regulatory scrutiny, and unfair advantages as a result of particular subsidies.

China has made it clear they are aiming to control global supply chains and acquire foreign competitors.

“The overseas market exploration by China battery companies is accelerating, and their investment in EV plants abroad is also conducive to further improving their global EV production capacity,” said the director of the Cutting-Edge Technology Research Institute, Zhang Xiaorong.

China’s battery exports are increasing, which are currently financing their takeover efforts.

The U.S. is seen as a hot destination for Chinese battery and EV investment, raising questions about the level of control China may gain on U.S. soil.
