A CNN poll reveals that a significant majority of Democrat-leaning voters are opposed to nominating President Biden for a second term.
When asked about the 2024 presidential candidate, only 33% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independent voters chose Biden, while a substantial 67% preferred a different candidate.
Of those Democrat-leaning voters, a significant 82% simply wanted “just someone besides Joe Biden.”
Even CNN’s new poll has Trump beating Biden in 2024. Trump never led one CNN poll vs. Biden in 2020. There’s no way the Dems roll with Biden as their nominee. If they did, these numbers would mean Trump wins the popular & electoral college vote. pic.twitter.com/oAsh5rNO4H

Approximately half of these respondents cited Biden’s age as their primary concern regarding his candidacy in 2024.
Additional concerns included worries about Biden’s “mental competence/sharpness/senility,” “health,” and “ability to handle the job/effectiveness,” each noted by 7% of respondents.
Also, 56% of Democratic voters expressed serious concerns that Biden’s age might negatively impact his “current level of physical and mental competence.”
This growing sentiment within his own party is driven by concerns about Biden’s ability to handle another term in office and that he is 80 years old.
