Fauci said, “When you look at it from a broad population level, as the Cochrane study did, the data appear less conclusive regarding their impact on the overall pandemic. However, our focus here is on an individual’s capacity to enhance their own safety, which presents a somewhat different perspective than the broader population level.”
In the motion in California, Van Der Mark argued that COVID-19 mandates had unnecessarily restricted the freedoms of Huntington Beach citizens, even those who had not been exposed to the virus or anyone who had tested positive.
The motion also highlighted concerns about the potential resurgence of COVID-19 and the emergence of new variants. It mentioned discussions regarding broad mask-wearing mandates and vaccination booster shots.
