GOP Senator Admitted to Hospital With Sudden Emergency

Interview with Alabama U.S. Senator Katie Britt | via WVTM 13 News

Republican Senator Katie Britt of Alabama was hospitalized after suffering sudden facial numbness. The Senate is currently in recess until after Labor Day.

Britt’s election to the Senate is a historic moment for Alabama and for the United States. She is the first woman elected to the Senate from Alabama and the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the Senate. She was elected in 2022, defeating Democratic nominee Will Boyd.

The 41-year-old congresswoman said, “While with my family in Montgomery this past weekend, I experienced a sudden onset of numbness in my face. I was admitted to Baptist Medical Center South for evaluation. Doctors determined that my symptoms were a result of swelling of a facial nerve, most likely caused by a post-viral infection.” (Trending: CNN’s Response To Joe Biden’s Corruption Is Jaw-Dropping)

“A specialist from UAB has subsequently evaluated me on an outpatient basis and concurred with the prognosis and course of treatment,” she said, referring to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

“My condition is not life-threatening, and recovery could take several weeks. I am grateful for the medical professionals providing excellent care, and my family and I are deeply grateful for your prayers,” she said.

“To think that there are little girls and young women across our state who can look at what we have achieved together on this campaign and be inspired — or be instilled with the confidence and hope that they can shoot for the stars and achieve their dreams — is powerful,” Britt said in an interview last year.

Britt was born in Enterprise, Alabama, in 1982 and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in business administration. She worked as an attorney for a law firm in Montgomery. In 2016, she was named chief of staff for then-Senator Richard Shelby. (Trending: Fauci Gets The Worst News of His Career)

In 2019, Britt was elected president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, a trade organization representing businesses in the state. She served in that role until 2022, when she announced her candidacy for the United States Senate.

Britt is a conservative Republican who is pro-life, pro-gun, and supports tax cuts. She is also a strong supporter of the military and is committed to creating jobs in Alabama.

Britt is a rising star in the Republican Party and is likely to play a major role in shaping the future of American politics.
