Singer Elton John announced his departure from Twitter, blaming new corporate guidelines for allowing “misinformation” to “flourish unchecked” on the platform.
“All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together,” John said.

Elton John didn’t answer Musk’s simple question.

In November 2022, Twitter stopped enforcing its COVID-19 misinformation policy, which had seen the suspension of over 11,000 accounts and the removal of over 100,000 posts.
This followed a poll by Musk asking whether the platform should offer a “general amnesty” to suspended accounts.
The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of amnesty.
