Karim Azizi, the suspect in the video of a man in New York City attacking another man with a baseball bat, was released on bail less than 24 hours after his arrest.
He was arrested Wednesday morning.
Azizi was charged with assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and released early Thursday morning after his girlfriend paid the bail amount of $7,500.

Prosecutors had asked for a $40,000 bail amount due to the violent nature of the attack.
Instead, the court set bail at $7,500.

Azizi has no prior criminal history.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect and victim may have had a verbal argument before the attack, according to police sources.
