Twitter Shuts Down Requests For Elon Musk to Reverse Ban on Trump: ‘Policy Decisions Aren’t Made By the Board or Shareholders’

Despite promising “significant improvements” after buying over 9% of the Twitter for nearly $3 billion, Elon Musk was shot down by Twitter censors.

In a new statement, Twitter defied Musk, saying: “Policy decisions are not determined by the board or shareholders, and we have no plans to reverse any policy decisions.”

Twitter has been widely condemned for failing to allow for the basic right to free speech on its platform.

Left-wing “fact-checkers” are regularly accused of censoring the opinions and speech of Americans on Twitter and Facebook. Twitter recently suspended multiple accounts, including satire outlet Babylon Bee and Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Once Musk gained control, users immediately suggested that the company reinstate President Donald Trump’s account.

In response, Twitter shot down the idea that Musk could overturn policy decisions, such as reversing the ban on Trump.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal initially bowed to Elon Musk after he purchased the largest ownership stake in company. “I’m excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board!” Agrawal announced. “Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.”

Musk responded, “Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!”

Musk, who is the richest person on the planet, purchased a 9.2% stake in Twitter Inc. He now controls nearly 73.5 million shares of the company. In response, Twitter’s shares jumped more than 25% in price following the release of the news.

Musk recently blasted the left-wing social media platform for failing to allow for free speech. Twitter notoriously banned President Donald Trump from using the platform back in 2020.

Musk asked his followers to take an informal poll: “Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?”

An overwhelming number of Americans responded that Twitter is failing to adhere to the basic principle of free speech.

Musk’s poll received responses from 2 million people. It showed that 70.4% of people believe think Twitter is doing a bad job.
