According to Fox Business Average Americans could get a vaccine by April 2021.

For high-risk cases, Dr. Fauci, the U.S Governments top infectious disease expert, says coronavirus vaccinations could be available as soon as December.

The vaccine has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Pfizer, in partnership with BioNTech, announced a vaccine being developed that has “proven more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in Phase 3 clinical trial,” as Fox Business put.

Pfizer’s chief executive has said they could prepare 30 million to 40 million doses of the vaccine before the conclusion of 2020.

This would make enough for 15 million to 20 million people to get the initial shot and a booster three weeks later.

“I trust Pfizer; I trust the FDA. These are colleagues of mine for decades — career scientists,” Fauci said.

He stated that he himself would be taking the vaccine.

More from Fox Business:

Pfizer and BioNTech project they can produce 1.3 billion doses of the vaccine per year, not enough for the entire world population, but a benchmark nonetheless for scientists and developers to mimic.

Fauci, a member of the White House’s coronavirus task force and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, later told CNN’s Jake Tapper that the average American could have access to a vaccine as early as April 2021.
